On Thursday, Dec.5, 2019, the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) held its 4th monthly symposium in which Gen. Raheel Sharif (Rtd.), the Military Commander of IMCTC, delivered a talk titled ‘Terrorism in the Digital Age’ at the IMCTC Center’s auditorium. The symposium was attended by IMCTC Secretary-General, member countries’ delegates as well as IMCTC Center’s staff.
Gen. Raheel (Rtd.) stressed the importance of international joint action in countering terrorism and confronting the presence of terrorist groups on social media platforms, calling at the same time for making use of the domains upon which IMCTC focuses in this respect.
It is noteworthy that IMCTC comprises 41 member countries that work together to coordinate and redouble their efforts in the global war against violent extremism, terrorism as well as joining other international efforts aiming at maintaining international peace and security.
