IMCTC Secretary-General meets with Gambia’s Minister of Defense

The Secretary General of the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi met in the Gambian capital, Banjul, with the Minister of Defense to the Republic of the Gambia, HE. Sering Modou Njie.

The Minister extended a warm welcome to the Secretary-General and expressed appreciation for IMCTC's efforts in serving member countries' interests in the fight against terrorism. He also commended the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its continuous support to the Republic of the Gambia in serving its vital interests.

During the meeting, both sides discussed issues of common interest and HE. Gambia's Minister was briefed on IMCTC's initiatives and strategy across counterterrorism domains.

HE, also praised IMCTC's efforts in coordinating international efforts against terrorism, highlighting their role in accelerating eradication of terrorism.

For his part, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi commends the significant role played by the Government of the Republic of the Gambia in countering terrorism and violent extremism. He also acknowledged the country's active role as IMCTC member country, emphasizing the importance of standing together against those who intend to harm the security of our countries and societies.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 15th Islamic Summit Conference in Banjul, themed "Enhancing unity and solidarity through dialogue for sustainable development."​
