The Chief of the General Staff, of the Saudi Armed Forces, Gen. Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, received today, Wednesday, 04/08/2021, at IMCTC headquarters in Riyadh, the Chief of Staff of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Hamad bin Thani Al-Rumaithi, and his accompanying delegation. IMCTC Secretary-General, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, received Lt. Gen. Al-Rumaithi. 

HE Lt. Gen. Al-Rumaithi got a detailed briefing on IMCTC’s counter-terrorism efforts in the four domains (ideology, communications, counter terrorist financing, and military) and its role in coordinating and redoubling member countries’ efforts in this regard. The meeting explored avenues of joint cooperation between IMCTC and the UAE on matters of common interest. 

Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi pointed out that IMCTC offers a critical platform that seeks to strengthen cooperation between member countries based on the principles of legitimacy, independence, coordination and participation, as well as making sure that all IMCTC counter-terrorism actions and efforts are consistent with international rules, norms and laws. 

IMCTC Secretary-General commended the UAE’s leading and pioneering role in countering terrorism and violent extremism in its all forms, shapes and manifestations. He further alluded to the fact that the UAE is a member of many regional and international organizations and hailed its noble principle of denouncing violence, extremism and its firm belief in tolerance, peaceful coexistence.
