The Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition, Major General Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, and his accompanying delegation met with Mr. Mauro Miedico, Director of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. During the meeting, both sides discussed aspects of cooperation between IMCTC and UNCCT.

The meeting included a presentation of IMCTC's key achievements and initiatives, outlining their objectives and role in supporting member countries in countering terrorism, rejecting violence, and extremism.

The UNCCT Director welcomed Major General Al-Moghedi and praised the IMCTC's initiatives and working mechanisms, emphasizing their alignment with international norms and standards. Additionally, the Director presented the working mechanisms of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre and the initiatives implemented among countries worldwide.

The Director emphasized that this meeting enhances joint efforts and builds a strategic partnership between both sides to serve member countries and the international community.

For his part, Major General Al-Moghedi expressed his appreciation for the meeting, which strengthened cooperation between IMCTC and UNCCT in all issues related to countering terrorism at the international level. He emphasized the need for global efforts to come together, following clear and defined methodologies, with the ultimate goal of rejecting violence and extremism and ensuring the security and safety of our countries.

It is worth noting that this coordination visit aims to exchange expertise between IMCTC and UNCCT to achieve the desired objectives in countering terrorism and violent extremism internationally.​
