​​The Islamic Military Counterterrorism Coalition organized, on Monday, 05-07-2021, at its headquarters in Riyadh, an event titled: “The Role of Emerging Technologies in the Early Detection of Radical Terrorist Content on Social Media Networks”, delivered by Dr. Majdal bin Sultan bin Safran, a ministerial advisor and artificial intelligence expert. H.E. IMCTC Secretary General, Member Countries’ Delegates as well as IMCTC personnel attended the event.

The speaker highlighted the efficacy of artificial Intelligence software in the early detection of terrorist groups’ content through which they transmit their criminal messages on social media platforms by take advantage of the speed of transmission of this content over the digital space. He further stressed that competent authorities should make the most of the emerging technologies in counterterrorism over social media networks by way of tracking and flagging such content. 

The event is part of a series of counterterrorism-focused symposia, lectures and seminars held regularly by the Islamic Military Counterterrorism Coalition.
