The Islamic Military Counterterrorism Coalition (IMCTC) held on Thursday, Jun.24, 2021, at its headquarters in Riyadh, an event titled: Terrorist Groups’ Media Discourse Analysis) presented by Col. Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Shadi, delegate of the Republic of Yemen in to the Coalition in the communications domain. IMCTC Secretary General, member countries delegates, as well as IMCTC personnel attended the event.
The presentation detailed terrorist groups’ utilization of online media outlets, means and techniques of disseminating their radical discourse. Further, the speaker presented a set of analytical studies of the media discourse of certain terrorist groups and their media approach which seeks to incite public opinion and create divisions and chaos.
It is worth noting that the presentation is part of a series of symposia and seminars that focus on the communications field as part of IMCTC’s counterterrorism strategy that comprises four domains, namely, ideology, communications, counter terrorist financing and military.
