The Islamic Military Counterterrorism Coalition organized on Thursday, 08/07/2021, at is headquarters in Riyadh, an event tilted; (Terrorist Groups’ Misconceptions and their Role in luring the Youth) delivered by Dr. Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al-Maymin, professor of comparative jurisprudence at the high Judiciary Council, Imam Mohammed bin Saud Islamic University. IMCTC Secretary-General, Member Countries’ Delegates and personnel attended the event.
Dr. Al-Maymen detailed the misconceptions used by terrorist groups that turn the youth toward violent extremism and terrorism and then lure them to carry out their criminal attacks. He further outlined some key techniques used by these terrorist groups, including their misguided use of takfir concepts, daring to declare other fellow Muslims as unbelievers, concept of judging by other than what Allah has revealed (governance), loyalty and enmity concepts, et cetera.
He concluded his speech by refuting such misconceptions in line with the tolerant principles of Islam that has nothing to do with violence and extremism.
