The Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, cordially received Dr. Abdulla Al-Tayer, Chief advisor and Director General of the Cabinet at the General Secretariat of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), at the IMCTC headquarters in Riyadh. The visit comes as a part of the IMCTC efforts to strengthen relationships with relevant international bodies. 

Both parties discussed avenues to develop joint cooperation between IMCTC and OIC within the context of knowledge exchange in support of countering terrorism and violent extremism. They exchanged as well their perspectives of several issues of common interest which are related to regional and international developments in the fight against terrorism as well as the efforts made towards those issues.

During the meeting, the IMCTC efforts in countering terrorism and violent extremism were highlighted and its role in coordinating and multiplying member countries’ individual efforts was showcased.  

Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi emphasized that IMCTC always seeks to build strategic partnerships with international organizations and bodies as being necessary and could support international efforts to fight terrorism and violent extremism.

In turn, Dr. Al-Tayer commended the efforts made by IMCTC and stressed the importance of joint cooperation, exchange of expertise and experience and coordination among all parties concerned with fighting terrorism. ​
