His Excellency, Mohammed bin Ahmad Al Bawardi, State Minister for Defense Affairs as well as his Excellency, Lt. Gen. Hamad Mohammad Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates, received Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Said Al-Moghedi, IMCTC Secretary-General, and the accompanying delegation during their official visit to the United Arab Emirates on the sidelines of the 16th edition of Dubai Airshow 2019. The latest developments at the regional and global level were discussed and security issues of common concern pertaining to combating terrorism were highlighted. In both meetings avenues of strengthening joint cooperation were explored to accomplish the desired goals in the interest of security and stability in the region. 

Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi commended UAE efforts as an IMCTC member country that has experiences and expertise in fighting terrorism and violent extremism. 

Both meetings are part of IMCTC’s endeavor to build strategic partnership among member countries, supporting nations and international organizations and foster constant cooperation with all countries to further build capacity, share best international practices, information and expertise in countering terrorism and join other international efforts seeking to preserve international peace and security. ​
