UAE National Defense College Students visit IMCTC Headquarters in Riyadh

Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Moghedi, Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), received on Wed. Nov. 27, 2019 at the IMCTC Center in Riyadh a delegation of military students from the United Arab Emirates’ National Defense College. The delegation was headed by Cmdre. Tarig bin Khalfan Al-Zeaabi. The visit was part of a knowledge exchange program among IMCTC member countries to advance the objectives of combating terrorism and violent extremism. 

During the visit, the IMCTC efforts in confronting terrorism and violent extremism were highlighted and its role in coordinating efforts to counter terrorist narratives was showcased. 

Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi pointed out that IMCTC’s approach is based on Islamic values, coordination of member countries efforts, information sharing and ensuring that all IMCTC’s counterterrorism efforts are consistent with international rules and norms. He commended the efforts of UAE as a member state of IMCTC as well as its expertise in countering terrorism and violent extremism. 

IMCTC comprises 41 member countries working together to coordinate and intensify their efforts in the global war against violent extremism and terrorism and join other international efforts aimed at preserving international peace and security. ​
