SECRETARY-GENERAL OF ISLAMIC MILITARY COUNTER-TERRORISM COALITION MEETS COMMANDER IN CHIEF OF THE BAHRAIN DEFENCE FORCE AND COMMANDER OF BAHRAIN ROYAL GUARD

His Excellency the Secretary-General of Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), Major General Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, met the Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and Royal Guard Commander, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in Manama. The parties deliberated on avenues of collaboration, joint perspectives and strengthening of relations to achieve sought objectives in the fight against terrorism.

Several security issues related to regional and international developments in the fight against terrorism, which are of mutual interest between Kingdom of Bahrain and IMCTC, were discussed.

H.E. Major General Al-Moghedi stressed the importance of Bahrain's efforts as a Member Country that has experience and expertise in countering violent extremism and terrorism.

For his part, H.E. Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa reiterated his country's continuous support for IMCTC and their readiness to make all necessary efforts to promote collaboration in the fight against terrorism.

Of great note, the meeting was held on the margins of the Bahrain International Defence Exhibition & Conference (BIDEC 2019) which was held with participation and presence of a number of delegations from Arab, Islamic and other countries to discuss various issues of concern.

IMCTC is a pan-Islamic alliance of 41 countries that have come together to coordinate and multiply their individual efforts in the global fight against terrorism and violent extremism and to effectively join other international security and peacekeeping efforts.
