Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) welcomed, on Thursday, 18 March 2021, the Military Attaché of the Republic of Iraq to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Brig. Gen. Dawood Abdulkareem Mahdi, and the accompanying delegation. IMCTC counterterrorism efforts across the IMCTC four domains of action (Ideology, Communications, Counter-Terrorist Financing and Military) and the IMCTC role in coordinating and multiplying member countries’ efforts were explained in detail to Brig. Gen. Mahdi during the visit. Moreover, avenues of joint cooperation between IMCTC and the Republic of Iraq were discussed during the meeting.

Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi stated that IMCTC represents a significant front that seeks to strengthen military cooperation among member countries. Based on the values of legitimacy, independence, coordination and participation, IMCTC strives to ensure that all counterterrorism actions and efforts made by its member countries are aligned with international regulations, norms and laws.

For his part, Brig. Gen. Mahdi paid tribute to the significant role played by IMCTC to serve its member countries across the different counterterrorism areas. He also noted the achievements of IMCTC in the fight against terrorism and violent extremist ideology across its four domains of action.
