The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) held a presentation entitled “Islamophobia between Mental Image and Challenges” on Wednesday, 26th May 2021, at its headquarters in Riyadh. The presentation was presented by His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Namlah, under the patronage of IMCTC Acting Secretary-General and the presence of IMCTC member countries’ delegates and IMCTC personnel. During the presentation, Dr. Al-Namlah addressed the concept of Islamophobia, its causes, and the distorted image of Islam and Muslims in the West from ancient times up to the present. He also referred to the trends of some Western media, which play a major role in increasing Islamophobia by amplifying events and matters and obtaining information from partially biased sources, all of which contribute to the formation of opinions about Islam and Muslims in the Western world.
It is noteworthy that the presentation comes as a part of the series of presentations, symposia, and workshops that IMCTC holds for member countries’ delegates, in cooperation with scholarly, intellectual, military, and media competencies from various sectors.
