The Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition, Maj. Gen. Mohammed S. Al-Moghedi received, on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, the Deputy Director of Intelligence Operations Center, U.S. Central Command, Rear Admiral, Kevin Lenox, and the accompanying delegation. 

Over the course of the visit, RADM, Lenox received a detailed briefing on IMCTC counterterrorism efforts across the four counterterrorism domains; ideology, communications, counter-terrorist financing, and military, as well as the IMCTC’s role in coordinating and intensifying counterterrorism efforts of its member countries. Further, both sides explored avenues of joint cooperation between IMCTC and USCENTCOM. 

During the meeting, IMCTC Secretary-General, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi pointed out that IMCTC operates as a fully integrated platform that seeks to strengthen cooperation between member countries, as well as functioning based on the values of legitimacy, independence, coordination, participation and ensuring that all member countries’ efforts are in line with international laws, norms and regulations.

For his part, RADM, Lenox commended the role played by IMCTC in serving the interests of its member countries regarding counterterrorism across the various domains and further highlighted IMCTC’s achievements in countering terrorism and violent extremist ideology across the various domains.
