IMCTC Receives the Minister of Security and Civil Protection of Togo

The Islamic Military Counterterrorism Coalition (IMCTC) received at its headquarters in Riyadh, on Thursday, 02/06/2022, Gen. Damehame Yark, the Minister of Security and Civil Protection of the Republic of Togo and the accompanying delegation, who were welcomed by IMCTC Secretary-General, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi.

During the visit, HE Minister Yark was thoroughly briefed on the IMCTC efforts in countering terrorism and its role in combating extremist ideology and coordinating all efforts to confront terrorist trends through its ideology, communications, counter-terrorist financing, military initiatives, as well as its role in coordinating and intensifying its member countries’ effort.

Also, HE Minister Yark and the accompanying delegation toured the IMCTC headquarters. During the tour, they learned about the key IMCTC counter terrorism publications, latest developments on terrorist groups and incidents around the world, and its efforts in monitoring terrorist acts.

For his part, Gen. Yark commended the IMCTC efforts in the fight against terrorism and the Saudi Arabia's initiative to establish the IMCTC to stand, along with other organizations, as a “bulwark of strength” against extremist terrorist groups across the globe, especially in many African countries that have suffered and continues to suffer from extremist groups.

Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi confirmed that the Republic of Togo was among IMCTC member countries. Thus, he looks forward to sending its delegates to join and work closely with other member countries' delegates to do everything possible to counter terrorism and all forms of violent extremism.
