IMCTC receives the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Saudi Arabia

The Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) received at its headquarters in Riyadh, Wednesday, June 8, 2022, HE, Shaikh Ali bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Saudi Arabia and the accompanying delegation. IMCTC Secretary-General Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi received the visiting delegation.

Over the course of the visit, Bahrain’s Ambassador received a detailed briefing on IMCTC’s counterterrorism efforts, its role in combating extremism, coordinating all efforts to confront the terrorist tendencies through ideology, communications, counter-terrorist financing and military initiatives, in addition to its efforts in coordinating and intensifying member countries efforts. The delegation got acquainted with the latest developments regarding terrorist organizations, attacks around the world and the means of monitoring and tracking such organizations by IMCTC.

For his part, the Ambassador commended Saudi Arabia for taking the initiative to establish this Islamic Coalition to stand shoulder to shoulder with other similar organizations to be a bulwark against radical terrorist organizations across the world and highlighted IMCTC efforts across different counterterrorism domains.  

Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi pointed out that the Kingdom of Bahrain was among the countries that joined IMCTC since its early establishment, out of its belief to deter any action that may incite or promote violent extremism. moreover, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi added that Bahrain plays a vital role in countering terrorism, violent extremism in the world and particularly in Southeast Asia. He further commended Bahrain’s tolerant approach, its rejection of violence, extremism and its membership in several counter-terrorism/extremism organizations and centers.
