The Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition received on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at IMCTC's headquarters in Riyadh, Minister of State for Defense and Veterans Affairs of the Republic of Burkina Faso, H.E. Maj. Gen. Kassoum Coulibaly and the accompanying delegation. Both sides discussed matters related to different counter-terrorism domains, and ways to strengthen the joint action.

H.E. Maj. Gen. Coulibaly, received a briefing on IMCTC's key achievements and approach in counter-terrorism across its four counterterrorism domains: ideology, communications, counter-terrorist financing, and military, and got familiarized with IMCTC's publications and research in this regard. Further, H.E. was briefed about the situation room concerned with IMCTC's monitoring, analysis, releasing statistics and follow-up operations about terrorist groups around the world. 

At the end of the visit, H.E. commended IMCTC's efforts, professional methods, and methodological approaches to counter extremist groups and its efforts to serve its member states in confronting extremism.

For his part, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi expressed deep appreciation for H.E. the Defense Minister's visit and praised the efforts of the Republic of Burkina Faso in the war against terrorism. He also stressed IMCTC's determination to support its member states through initiatives to counter terrorism and extremist groups.​
