The Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, visited on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, the headquarters of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and was received by the OIC Secretary-General, Dr. Youssef A. Al-Othaimeen, and other senior officials.

Over the course of the meeting, both sides explored avenues of cooperation to strengthen their joint efforts in counterterrorism, denunciation of violent extremism, and establish strategic partnership between both organizations for achieving greater collaboration, coordination, and integration across all relevant areas.

Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi pointed out that such cooperation contributes to the development of the society intellectually, promotes moderation, and is part of IMCTC’s strategy seeking to build partnerships, collaboration, and coordination with similar international organizations, especially the OIC, which its membership includes most of IMCTC member States.

It is worth noting that IMCTC and OIC have signed a joint memorandum of cooperation in mid-January 2020, to share expertise and solidify counterterrorism efforts across all domains.
