The Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition received today at its headquarters, a military media delegation from the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

While answering questions raised by the visiting delegation, IMCTC Secretary-General Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, pointed out that IMCTC is anchored on the values of Islamic Sharia and international laws and principles. He further pointed out that IMCTC seeks to consolidate the efforts of its member states in countering terrorism, while at the same time, makes sure these efforts are in line with international laws, norms and regulations. Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi highlighted that the communications domain is critical in countering terrorism as a major tool through which the true nature of the criminal groups and their subversive actions acts are exposed as well as a tool for transmitting messages of moderation that counter, refute and expose the extremist violent religious discourse in its all forms and manifestations.

Over the course of the visit, the delegation toured IMCTC facilities and got familiarized with its counter-terrorism publications, the latest developments on terrorist groups, incidents around the world and its efforts in keeping track of such groups.
