IMCTC receives the Students of MA Program for Strategic Studies at Staff and Command Collage

The Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition received a delegation of military students of the master’s Program for strategic studies, national security and military media diplomas from the Saudi Armed Forces Staff and Command College. Over the course of the visit, the delegation received a briefing on IMCTC's main activities across the various counter-terrorism domains, its strategies for implementing counter-terrorism initiatives, in addition to its role in countering extremism, coordinating all efforts to counter terrorist tendencies through ideology, communications, counter-terrorist financing, military initiatives, as well as the coordination and stepping up of member states' efforts. Further, the delegation was also briefed on the latest developments regarding terrorist groups, incidents around the world and IMCTC's role in monitoring such developments. 

IMCTC Secretary-General, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi pointed out that IMCTC is founded on the principles of legitimacy, independence, coordination, resourcing and makes sure that all its counter-terrorism actions and efforts are in line with international regulations, norms, and laws.

During the QA session with the visiting delegation, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi pointed out that means of dealing with terrorist groups keep evolving constantly with the advances in modern technologies. Therefore, rebuttal of the terrorist ideology is most critical element, followed by targeting their communications networks, narratives as well as cutting off their financial resources, then coupled with the coordination of military efforts that takes into account the sovereignty of member countries affected by terrorism.

It is worth noting that this visit is part of the common cooperation between IMCTC and its Member States meant to strengthen the partnership in exchanging the expertise aimed at defeating terrorism.
