IMCTC Secretary-General, Maj. Gen. Mohammed Saeed Al-Moghedi, received, on Monday, February 14, 2022, the Defense Attaché of the United Kingdom to Saudi Arabia, Brig. Gen. Francis Piggott and the accompanying delegation.

Over the course of the visit, Brig. Piggott received a detailed briefing on IMCTC counterterrorism efforts across the four counterterrorism domains; ideology, communications, counter-terrorist financing, and military, as well as the vital role IMCTC plays in coordinating and intensifying counterterrorism efforts of its member countries. meanwhile, both sides explored the avenues of joint cooperation between IMCTC and the UK.

During the meeting, IMCTC Secretary-General, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi pointed out that IMCTC operates as a fully integrated platform that seeks to strengthen cooperation between member countries, as well as functioning based on the values of legitimacy, independence, coordination, participation and ensuring that all member countries’ efforts are in line with international laws, norms and rules.

For his part, Brig. Gen. Piggott commended the role played by IMCTC in serving the interests of its member countries regarding counterterrorism across the various domains and further highlighted IMCTC’s achievements in countering terrorism and violent extremist ideology across the various domains.
