IMCTC Secretary-General, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi received, at IMCTC HQ in Riyadh,  Ambassador Shahin bin Shaker Abdullayev of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Saudi Arabia, and the accompanying delegation. During the meeting, both sides discussed issues of mutual interests between IMCTC and the Islamic Republic of Azerbaijan.

Over the course of the meeting, Ambassador Abdullayev was briefed on IMCTC's counterterrorism efforts across the four (ideology, communications, counterterrorism financing and military) domains, and the role it plays in coordinating the efforts of member countries. The briefing also covered the latest developments and updates on terrorist groups and incidents around the world, and the means through which IMCTC keeps track of them.

Ambassador Abdullayev commended IMCTC's efforts in countering the scourge of terrorism in partnership with international organizations, coalitions concerned with countering terrorism and violent extremist ideology. He also praised the leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting IMCTC and doing everything possible in countering terrorism and criminal groups.

For his part, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al- Moghedi stressed the strategic importance of Azerbaijan on the international stage and its active role in countering terrorism and that IMCTC looks forward that the Republic of Azerbaijan would join this Coalition and work side by side with its member countries in tackling terrorism and violent extremism.
