The Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) received on December 20, 2022, at its headquarters in Riyadh, a delegation of military students from the Saudi Armed Forces Command and Staff College.

The visiting delegation received a thorough briefing on the IMCTC’s efforts across counterterrorism domains, its implementation strategies used for its counterterrorism initiatives, its role in combating extremist ideology and coordinating all efforts to confront terrorist trends via its ideology, communications, counter-terrorist financing, and military initiatives, as well as coordinating and stepping up counterterrorism efforts among member countries.

The IMCTC's Secretary-General, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, emphasized that the IMCTC is founded on the principles of legitimacy, independence, coordination, and complementarity and aims to ensure that all counterterrorism work and efforts are compliant with international rules, norms, and laws.

Later, the visiting delegation toured IMCTC headquarters facilities, learned about its key counterterrorism publications, and got an update on terrorist organizations and events around the world, as well as the monitoring and tracking tools the IMCTC uses in this context.

This visit is part of the joint work between the IMCTC and its Member Countries, which would enhance partnership in exchanging experiences to eradicate the scourge of terrorism.
