IMCTC Secretary-General Meets UAE's Minister for Defense Affairs

The United Arab Emirates’ Minister of State for Defense affairs, Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bowardi, received IMCTC Secretary-General Maj. Gen. Mohammed Bin Saeed Al-Moghedi in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. Over the course of the meeting, both sides explored avenues of cooperation, shared objectives and strengthening relationships to achieve the desired objectives in the fight against terrorism. 

Further, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interests between the UAE and IMCTC as well as the latest developments regarding IMCTC’s initiatives and strategy. 

For his part, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi underscored the UAE’s efforts as an IMCTC Member State with extensive experience and expertise in countering terrorism and violent extremism.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of UMEX and SimTEX  2022 exhibition/conference, attended by several regional and international delegations participating in the event.   

The visit reflects IMCTC’s desire to establish strategic partnerships between its member countries, supporting nations, and international organizations. The visit also aimed to deepen mutual ties, ongoing cooperation with the rest of other countries for capacity-building, exchange of best international practices, information, expertise sharing in counterterrorism and joining other international efforts aimed at preserving international peace and security.
