Ambassador of Uganda to Saudi Arabia visits the Islamic Military Counterterrorism Coalition (IMCTC)

The Islamic Military Counterterrorism Coalition’s Secretary-General, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, received today, Tuesday, 24-08-2021, the Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda, H.E. Isaac Biruma Sebulime and the accompanying delegation. The meeting explored avenues of common cooperation between IMCTC and the Republic of Uganda. 

The ambassador received a detailed briefing on IMCTC’s efforts in counterterrorism across the four domains (ideology, communications, counter terrorist financing and military) and its role in coordinating member countries’ efforts in this regard. 

Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi pointed out that IMCTC offers a fully integrated platform that seeks to strengthen cooperation between Member States across multiple counterterrorism domains. He further elaborated that IMCTC approach is founded on the values of legitimacy, independence, coordination, participation and making sure that all member countries’ actions and efforts are in line with international regulations, norms and laws. 

It is worth noting that IMCTC comprises 41 member countries working together to coordinate and intensify their efforts in the global war against violent extremism, terrorism and joining other international efforts aimed at preserving international peace and security.
