The Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition's Secretary-General, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, received HE Faisal bin Muammar, Supervisor General of SALAM Project for Intercultural Communication, and the accompanying delegation at the IMCTC's headquarters in Riyadh on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest. Mr. bin Muammar and the visiting delegation were briefed on the IMCTC's counter-terrorism efforts, and its role in coordinating all member countries’ efforts through its ideology, communications, counter-terrorist financing, and military initiatives. They also learned about the IMCTC’s efforts in monitoring terrorist incidents and tracking the activities of extremist organizations.
Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi stated that IMCTC attaches importance to countering extremist ideology as well as exposing the terrorist groups’ claims using the principles of moderation, peace, tolerance, and mercy that are inherent in our true religion of Islam and upholding its noble message encouraging the values of brotherhood and cooperation, respect for others, and building bridges of communication between diverse peoples and cultures.
Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi also noted that such principles are aligned with SALAM’s objectives of spreading cultural communication and building bridges between peoples.
