IMCTC Secretary General meets with the Maldivian Minister of Defense

The Defense Minister of the Republic of Maldives, Mrs. Mariya Ahmed Didi, received on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, the Secretary General of the Islamic Military Counterterrorism Coalition (IMCTC), Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, at the headquarters of Maldives’ Ministry of Defense, where the Secretary General conveyed, during the meeting, the greetings of HRH, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Chairman of IMCTC Defense Ministers’ Council. Over the course of the meeting, both sides explored avenues of cooperation, shared visions and strengthening the relationships to realize the desired objectives in the war on terrorism. 

Further, both sides discussed matters of mutual interests and the latest steps taken by IMCTC in terms of counterterrorism initiative and its core strategy. Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi stressed the efforts of the Republic of Maldives as a member of both IMCTC as well as other international counterterrorism organizations. 

The visit comes out of IMCTC’s desire to establish strategic partnerships between member countries, supporting nations, international organizations, strengthen ties and ongoing cooperation with the rest of all other countries for capacity-building, sharing best practices, information and expertise in counterterrorism domain and joining other international efforts aimed at preserving international peace and security.
