The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition received a delegation from the UK's Counter Terrorism Network (CTeN) at its headquarters in Riyadh on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on IMCTC's key achievements and its role in coordinating international counterterrorism efforts across its domains: ideology, communications, counterterrorism financing, and military. Additionally, they familiarized themselves with IMCTC's monitoring, tracking, and analysis operations of terrorist groups and organizations around the world.

For his part, Major General Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, IMCTC Secretary-General, emphasized that extremist ideology is not associated with any particular religion, belief, or geographical location. It is characterized by aggressive and irreligious behavior and approach with the aim of sowing chaos, conflict, and causing harm to innocent people. IMCTC is committed to developing strategies to eradicate this ideology, recognizing that it is the primary driver of extremist behavior and indirectly influences the promotion of violent and destructive acts in the name of belief. He also highlighted the importance of international and national cooperation in countering this threat.

It is important to note that this visit aims to enhance joint actions and expertise exchange in countering terrorism, rejecting violence, and extremism at regional and international levels.
