IMCTC Receives a Delegation of the Western Theater Command of China’s Liberation Army

Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, Secretary-General, received Lieutenant General, Zhang Xuejie, Deputy Political commissar and Director of the Political Work Department of the Western Theater Command of the People's Republic of China, and the accompanying delegation at IMCTC headquarters on 30/05/2024 in Riyadh.

Over the course of the visit, both sides discussed matters related to countering terrorism in different areas, familiarized the delegation with IMCTC's key achievements and initiatives to counter terrorism across ideology, communications, counter-terrorist financing, and military domains, and discussed IMCTC's tracking, and analysis operations of terrorist and extremist groups around the world.

The head of the Chinese delegation, Lt. Gen. Zhang Xuejie, expressed his admiration for what he observed, commending the methodology employed by IMCTC in its fight against terrorism. He praised the strategic approach that addresses the fight against terrorism, starting from its extremist ideological roots to the military coordination aimed at defeating it. He added that the significant efforts made by IMCTC are of great interest to the Chinese Republic and that China could benefit from this experience in its fight against terrorism.

For his part, Major General, Al-Moghedi expressed his delight for the visit by the Chinese delegation, stating that terrorism is a common enemy and the fight against it is an ongoing war that requires intensive international cooperation to eradicate it. He added that the extremist approach, with its destructive ideas, transcends continents and penetrates all geographical boundaries to cause destruction and devastation, regardless of the different beliefs and religions it may carry. He emphasized that the establishment of this Islamic Coalition by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the host country, and the joining of 42 allied countries is a firm belief in the necessity of international community solidarity to eliminate this scourge and to stand united against anyone with an extremist approach aiming for destruction.

It is worth mentioning that this visit comes within the framework of joint cooperation, opening avenues for international cooperation, and the exchange of experiences on matters related to countering and eradicating terrorism.​
