Japan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia visits the Islamic Military Counterterrorism Coalition headquarters

​​IMCTC Secretary-General, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, received, on Wednesday, 30/06/2021, Japan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, H.E. Mr. Iwai Fumio and the accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the Ambassador got briefed on IMCTC’s efforts in counterterrorism across the four domains (ideology, communications, counter terrorist financing and military) as well as its role in coordinating member countries’ efforts in pursuit of this goal. 

Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi pointed out that the Islamic Military Counterterrorism Coalition offers a fully integrated platform that seeks to strengthen cooperation among member countries across the various areas of counterterrorism, in addition to being based on the values of legitimacy, independence, coordination and participation to ensure that IMCTC member countries’ counterterrorism efforts are in line with international law, norms and regulations. 

It is worth noting that IMCTC comprises 41 countries that work together to coordinate and strengthen their collective efforts in the global war against violent extremism, terrorism and to join other international efforts aimed at preserving international peace and security.
